100 Years and Building
Scandroli Construction Company is a fourth-generation family-owned firm of contractors. Scandroli was founded in 1907 by Joseph Scandroli, a skilled Italian brick mason who immigrated to the United States in 1892.
In 1933, Scandroli Construction Company became a corporation under Joesph’s sons: Charles, as President, and Raymond as Vice President. They expanded the company in 1940 to include the operation of a ready-mix concrete plant.
Raymond took the helm after Charles’s death in 1966, and brought on his sons Joseph and Carl.
In 1976, Joseph and Carl assumed control of the company as President and Vice President after Ray’s death. As Scandroli Construction Company’s current owners, they continue the family tradition of quality craftsmanship into the company’s second century of operation. Joseph’s two sons – Joseph Scandroli, Jr. and Anthony Scandroli currently hold positions in the company and continue this tradition of excellence into the future.
The strength of Scandroli Construction Company goes beyond its balance sheet, successful projects, and satisfied clients. When Joseph Scandroli founded Scandroli Construction Company in 1907, he believed that an absolute dedication to craftsmanship and an uncommon work ethic would lay the foundation for a business that would last generations. These principles laid the groundwork for the philosophies that still guide the company’s operation. Over a century later, his work – and ours – continue to stand the test of time.
Our Team
Joseph Scandroli Jr
President
Joseph serves as the company President, responsible for executive management, strategic business planning, business development and preconstruction services. In his 27 years with the company, Joseph has served many roles, starting in the field on the concrete and masonry crew, to Project Coordinator, Estimator, Project Manager, Director of Operations and Senior Leadership. Joseph was promoted to President in 2014. During his tenure, he has built solid relationships with an extensive network of subcontracting trade partners and satisfied clients, in addition to a substantial portfolio that includes construction management and design build projects. In his leadership role, Joseph’s focus is on the construction experience Scandroli Construction provides to the customer, consistently seeking out ways to deliver projects better through innovative, industry-leading planning and construction measures.

Anthony Scandroli
Vice President — Operations
Anthony is responsible for supervision, daily management, and coordination of field operations to meet time and cost objectives. With an extensive base of field experience Anthony effectively manages a staff of field superintendents. Possessing a vast knowledge of current tools and equipment, he consistently seeks out innovative technology to enhance construction efforts. Anthony has developed a comprehensive safety and risk management program including regular on-going training for all field employees and regular site visits from risk management experts. Anthony’s partnership approach in developing and fostering relationships with union representatives, subcontracting trade partners, city officials, in-house project management team and direct reporting superintendents positively impacts and enhances the entire construction process, from logistics and permitting, to manpower, scheduling and effective leadership ensuring the end goal; delivery of successful projects.
Kevin Behling
Director — Project Management
Kevin has decades of proven leadership and project management experience within a construction setting. Before joining Scandroli in 2018, he directed a program management firm, where he managed ten design firms and an internal team of two interior designers, three architects and two project managers to design and construct nearly $200 million of new construction, building additions, renovations and furniture for Rockford School District 205. Prior to his work at RPS 205, he served as vice president at two local construction firms. In between his service as vice president, he served on the faculties of Iowa State University and Purdue University which affords him the unique perspective of having been a student, a professor, and a constructor. During his extensive career he has held full time responsibilities in Estimating, Preconstruction and Design/Build capacities, in addition to Construction Management responsibility for five public school projects at three different districts.
Kevin Gugliuzza
Director — Estimating
Kevin possesses over 40 years project management and estimating experience including commercial, industrial, medical, municipal, and LEED certified projects. Kevin understands the success of any construction project is in great part the result of an accurate budget estimate and leads the estimating team based on that principal. He manages the team overseeing and contributing to the estimating process – conceptual estimating, cost analysis and estimate coordination. His expansive knowledge and vast experience are instrumental in identifying and suggesting cost and time-saving alternatives throughout the construction process.

What We Do
Pre-Construction Services
A successful project starts with a thorough pre-construction phase. Our primary goal during the Pre-Construction period is to form, maintain or improve the stated budget and schedule. We direct the budget development process, provide the owner and design team with timely input on cost and construction alternatives and monitor the availability of labor and material resources.
Design Build
Utilizing design-build provides single-source responsibility and potential for prompt completion. Our knowledge of many building types and our extensive diversity in project experience enable us to be a key contributing member of any design-build team. We have strong relationships with architects, engineers, and designers and can assist in putting together the right design/build team for any project.
Construction
We assume the duties of a full-service general contractor providing a designated point of responsibility for construction phase activities. Our team coordinates and organizes all resources for the project – labor, equipment, materials, utilities, finances, technology, and time — completing the project on schedule, within budget, and with the highest standards of quality and performance.
